Padded Bridles All
Do all these new tack designs really help?
It seems to me like there are so many new designs for saddles, bridles, girths, everything. But it seems the greatest horses lived in the past where tack was simpler and not so new-fangled. Do horses really need elastic, medical grade pad girths, air filled panels, and padded crowns? And do riders really need all these huge knee pads and stuff. Couldn't you just use a string girth and normal bridle?
I USED to be concerned what was in style, but you know what, my 40 year old Siegfried with it's shaped leather, elastic girth, it's old crosby leathers and Stubben irons work just fine... They've outlasted all the new stuff and are still around.
