Stable Blanket
What are the leg straps for on blankets (i.e. turnout blankets, stable blankets etc.)?
The leg straps are to keep the blanket from shifting around and getting twisted, resulting in a possibly dangerous situation. Without the leg straps, the blanket would eventually shift so far to one side that he could potentially step on, get tangled in, or rip the blanket, none of which are desirable. Make sure your blanket at least has a tail cord to keep this from happening.
